Our story

Funky Maharani was founded by Stevie Jhangiani and Hansika Jethnani with the intention of combining heritage and contemporary design to create everyday pieces of jewellery that are unique, elegant and fun. Our story began with the question “why don’t we see Maang Tikkas more often?”. We realised there was a gap in the market for Maang Tikkas that are quirky, modern and versatile. Our pieces have been designed to make you stand out every time, everywhere. Stevie and Hansika also head up contemporary Indian menswear brand KURTEES.

Made well

Funky Maharani is made well for you, and made well for the environment. Handcrafted by artisans in Gujarat, India, our exquisite, luxurious yet affordable pieces are crafted with extreme attention to detail, ensuring high standards of quality. We use 80% recycled brass in all our products, aiming to minimise metal waste and protect our environment. Every piece has its own unique character, brought to life by the artisans’ skills and embellishments such as enamel, elegant platings, genuine Swarovski crystals and semi precious stones.
